2018 Domaine Buisson Charles Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru ‘En Remilly’

A prized small premier cru vineyard nestled between St Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly and Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet. Particularly thin soil due to erosion results in wines that show all their bones and structure, with somewhat airiness (like the left bank premier crus in Chablis). Patrick states that if the vigneron misses the picking date the wine loses its originality, in warmer years this is of particular importance. "This too reflects a whisper of petrol character and a subtle exoticism on the spiced pear and citrus-suffused nose. There is evident underlying tension to the tighter more overtly mineral-driven flavors that also culminate in a dry, clean and focused finale.
