Village Level Red Burgundy - Pinot Noir. Nestled above Volnay Premier Cru ‘Pitures’ high on the hill and beneath the forest. The vines were planted in 1953 and are well entrenched in the soft porous limestone at the top of the hill, that offers fantastic drainage yet withholds enough for healthy vine balance. Maxime Dubuet Boillot’s grandfather, Pierre, sold his motorbike to purchase the plot when he was Maxime's age now. The nose is pure, transparent and lifted with notes of bright red fruits. Highly perfumed with sweet raspberry and sour cherry. The palate is energetic and taunt with ample flesh and very structured. It builds in the mouth, great length!
