          IMPORTANT NOTE, PLEASE READ BELOW
In previous years, we have sold through the whites very quickly and somewhat unfairly, the red wines linger in the warehouse. The red wines are sensational and are worthy of interest. With the hype of these 2021 whites with EXTREMELY low volumes, we will be incorporating a rule that we have never enforced before; If you purchase a Meursault whether it be village or premier cru, we will ask that you also purchase a bottle of red - i.e. you purchase a mixed six pack of Meursault, you will also be required to purchase a mixed six pack of Red Burgundy from Domaine Buisson Charles.

Because of this new rule, we will not be putting the products online. To order, we ask you to reply via email or telephone with your requested order.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Bourgogne Aligote 'Hors Classe'
A ripe and very spicy nose combines notes of white peach and citrus confit with those of green apple and anise hints. There is both excellent density and energy to the utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a bitter zest-inflected finale. This is excellent for its level. 87-89 Points. Outstanding, Top Value - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Bourgogne Blanc 'Hautes Coutures'
          Note: from Meursault-based vines.
A cooler and more floral-suffused nose speaks mostly of white orchard fruit and more subtle lemon-lime influence. The delicious middleweight flavors also possess impressive mid-palate density while offering well above average depth and persistence. This is also excellent. 87-89 Points. Outstanding, Top Value - Allen Meadows, The Burghound

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Meursault Vieilles Vignes
Two hectares total production for this wine, from six vineyards throughout Meursault. The different lieu-dits bring certain characters to the wine. Vireuils and Meix Chavaux bring freshness and tension. Marcausses, Vignes Blanches and Pellans bring body and flesh. While Millerands brings an ideal delicacy to the wine.
Pungent aromas of wood toast and reduction mask the underlying fruit. There is outstanding density to the delicious, caressing and exceptionally punchy larger-scaled flavors that exude evident minerality on the clean, dry and beautifully long finale. This is unusually good for its level. 90-93 Points. Outstanding, Top Value - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Meursault 'Vigne de 1945'
From vines located below 1er Cru ‘Les Charmes’ in the lieu-dits of ‘Les Pellans’. While the incline of the vineyard slopes slightly north toward the township of Meursault with heavy soils, there is a higher portion also. This portion has a better aspect and shallower, poorer soils. This position along with vines planted in 1945 that are picked at the correct moment, results in the below tasting note. Nothing short of a very special wine.
This is also pungently reduced with the only perceptible aromas that of wood toast. The medium weight flavors are not quite as dense though they are noticeably finer with stunningly good intensity along with excellent delineation on the even more complex and lingering finale. This is terrific. 91-93 Points. Outstanding, Top Value - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Meursault 'Les Tessons'
Note: from vines planted in 1964 that are in the Clos de Tessons.
Undoubtedly from the finest of the Meursault ‘village’ lieu-dits. Mid-slope with an easterly aspect on perfectly drained stony soil of clay-limestone substrate. Quite steep. The vineyard has historically been noted as having the same pedigree as the other premier cru vineyards however, due to being slightly more north, with more of an easterly aspect and next to no southerly exposure, it was downgraded when the AOC was put into place. For myself and many of the growers, this so called less-desirable aspect actually produces wines of particular excitement and intrigue. They are wines of incredible energy and tension. This example is a perfect reference point.
Once again reduction and oak toast hold sway over the fruit. There is a more sophisticated mouthfeel to the racy, precise and even stonier medium-bodied flavors that possess superb depth and persistence on the clean, bone-dry and youthfully austere finale. This built-to-age stunner of a Tessons could well be the best villages-level wine of the vintage. 91-94 Points. Outstanding, Top Value - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Meursault 1er Cru 'In Memoriam'
Proof of just how small the quantities were in 2021. Many producers had to blend all of their premier cru wines in order to make enough to fit into barrels/tanks. From 4 different 1ers. Les Cras, Les Charmes, Les Bouches Cheres and La Goutte d’Or.
There is a whiff of the phenolic to the aromas of hazelnut, acacia blossom, citrus confit and white peach, all of which is trimmed in just enough wood to merit mentioning. The medium weight plus flavors possess outstanding mid-palate density while displaying excellent power on the sappy, balanced and strikingly long finale. This could use better depth but more should almost certainly develop. This is terrific. 92-95 Points. Outstanding - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Chablis 1er Cru 'A Gauche du Serein'
Note: from Les Lys, Montmains proper and Vau de Vey.
There is plenty of typical Chablis elements on the nose of quinine, iodine, oyster shell and cool green apple wisps. The racy, delineation and nicely voluminous flavors culminate in a saliva-inducing and very dry but not really austere finale that could use better depth. 89-91 Points - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Pouilly Fuisse 1er Cru 'Les La Marechaude'

A restrained, cool and smoky nose registers ripe yet fresh aromas of citrus, green apple and a hint of quinine. The rich and generously proportioned medium weight flavors possess both excellent punch and evident power that builds on the beautifully long if not quite as complex finale. 90-93 Points. Outstanding - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Bourgogne Rouge
A super-fresh and very pinot fruit of essence of red berries and earth gives way to racy, detailed and attractively textured middleweight flavors that conclude in a lingering bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. Lovely though note that this is a serious Bourgogne that will be able to repay several years of keeping. 86-89 Points. Outstanding, Top Value - Allen Meadows, The Burghound

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Pommard 'en Mareau'

From a cooler plot within the combe of the Avant Dheune and ripens much later and produces a more refined Pommard.
Here the exuberantly fresh nose is more floral in character with its decidedly cool aromas of red currant, raspberry and herbal tea. The sleek, even chiseled, middleweight flavors also flash focused power and minerality that adds a sense of lift to the more austere and sneaky long finish. Like the Cents Vignes, this is textbook En Mareau. 89-91 Points. Outstanding - Allen Meadows, The Burghound

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Beaune 1er Cru 'Les Cents Vignes Rouges'
A perfumed, spicy and airy nose presents its notes of red cherry, raspberry and soft earth. The vibrant and remarkably fine, indeed almost delicate, flavors possess very good delineation while delivering fine length if only average depth on the slightly austere finale. This is textbook Cents Vignes. 90-92 Points - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Volnay 1er Cru 'Fremiets'
Mid slope on the Pommard side of Volnay and as such, wines with a little more substance and body yet still very much Volnay-esque, are produced.
The oak influence is slightly more noticeable though it still easily allows the distinctly cool yet ripe nose of spicy red berries to shine. There is both fine volume and vibrancy to the utterly delicious middleweight flavors the exude an inviting salinity on the impressively persistent finish. While this could use better depth, more should develop in time and overall, this is a relatively big 2021 red. 90-93 Points. Outstanding - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Volnay 1er Cru 'Santenots'
From vines situated in the upper part of Les Plures that is distinctly rockier and actually more like a Caillerets than a classically rich and generous Santenots.
A strikingly floral-suffused nose reflects additional notes of equally cool and airy red cherry, raspberry and an admirably subtle touch of oak. There is more size, weight and power to the even more refined medium weight flavors that exhibit outstanding length on the youthfully austere and notably more complex finale. This lovely if decidedly firm effort should amply reward a decade plus of keeping. 91-94 Points. Sweet spot, Outstanding - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Pommard 1er Cru 'Clos Micault'
Classic ruby color. A perfumed and again, decidedly cool nose reveals its airy aromas of essence of red pinot fruit, anise, orange peel and a violet hint. The gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors are more refined though noticeably less mineral-driven while display very fine length on the solidly persistent finish where just a touch of Pommard rusticity eventually emerges. Outstanding. 90-93 Points - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Corton Grand Cru Rouge
Note: from a mix of Clos du Roi and Clos des Maréchaudes.
Here too the oak influence is prominent enough to mention while remaining a background element on the aromas of earthy and spicy red and dark currant. The is excellent intensity to the racy and appealingly textured bigger-bodied flavors that offer solid depth and persistence on the youthfully austere and bitter pit fruit-inflected finale. While certainly built-to-age, this could actually be approached after only 5 to 7 years. 90-93 Points - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru
This is sufficiently reduced such that only discreet floral and oak toast hints peek through. The tension-filled, fresh and lacy middleweight flavors culminate in a moderately austere, linear and slightly lean finish that could use more flesh. While certainly perfectly good, it's not clear if this won't always be a bit skinny for a Gevrey grand cru. 89-92 Points - Allen Meadows, The Burghound

2021 Domaine Buisson Charles Chambertin Grand Cru
The oak regimen is less subtle with its menthol and toast elements that can be found on the ultra-fresh and markedly floral nose of various red berries and pungent earth. The bigger, richer and notably more powerful flavors are also markedly more mineral-driven while exhibiting excellent complexity on the balanced if youthfully austere finale. This is a classic Chambertin that will need extended keeping as it's very compact at present. 92-95 Points. Don’t Miss! - Allen Meadows, The Burghound.
