Francs Côtes de Bordeaux is one of the smallest appellations in Bordeaux, barely 500 hectares on the eastern edge of the Libournais. Château Franc-Cardinal farms ten hectares of it across three plots of clay, sand and gravel. Founded by Sophie and Philip in the early 2000s, it is now run by Sophie and Benjamin. Merlot makes up 67% of the vineyard, Cabernet Franc 24% and Malbec 8%, with Petit Verdot newly planted.

The estate has been certified organic since 2017, farmed without pesticides or herbicides and with the vineyard floor left deliberately alive. Winemaking is plain by design: no additives, no corrections, gentle pressing in a very small press, and ageing in one wine French oak Burgundy barrels. The Amphora cuvée skips oak entirely and is raised in clay, giving a fuller, silkier and more perfumed reading of the same fruit. Both the 2021 and the excellent 2022 are offered here.

Freight is charged per case, that is 1-12 bottles = 1 charge, 13-24 bottles another etc.
