4 barrels retained, 70% whole bunches. A rich deep purple. Stunning harmony right from the outset, such an intensity of fruit that the little grilled note from the wood is easily integrated. The fruit is delivered across the palate in waves, with an extra burst just when you think you have tasted it all. Not too overwhelming though, as there is a fine grain to the tannins and adequate acidity. Superb persistence. Very fine.
